pub struct CutReader { /* private fields */ }Expand description
Reads the cuts a barrier coordinator published to __barrier_state.
The reader drives the runtime’s own RecordFetcher with a manual read of
every partition of the topic, so it joins no consumer group and needs no new
broker RPC. The first read starts at offset 0 of each partition. A later
read continues where the previous one stopped, so it costs one fetch per
partition of the records the coordinator published since.
The reader keeps complete cuts only. A partial cut names partitions that never received the epoch’s marker, so a task that waited for one would wait forever. That is why the coordinator publishes partial cuts at all: a reader skips the epoch instead of stalling on markers that never arrive.
§Examples
use std::sync::Arc;
use krabka_client_streams::{barrier::CutReader, runtime::RecordFetcher};
let mut reader = CutReader::new(fetcher);
if let Some(cut) = reader.latest_complete_cut("transactions").await? {
println!("epoch {} at {:?}", cut.epoch, cut.offsets);
}Implementations§
Source§impl CutReader
impl CutReader
Sourcepub fn new(fetcher: Arc<dyn RecordFetcher>) -> Self
pub fn new(fetcher: Arc<dyn RecordFetcher>) -> Self
Creates a reader over the __barrier_state topic.
Sourcepub fn with_topic(
fetcher: Arc<dyn RecordFetcher>,
topic: impl Into<String>,
) -> Self
pub fn with_topic( fetcher: Arc<dyn RecordFetcher>, topic: impl Into<String>, ) -> Self
Creates a reader over another topic than __barrier_state.
Sourcepub async fn latest_complete_cut(
&mut self,
group: &str,
) -> Result<Option<BarrierCut>, StreamsClientError>
pub async fn latest_complete_cut( &mut self, group: &str, ) -> Result<Option<BarrierCut>, StreamsClientError>
The complete cut of a barrier group with the highest epoch.
The result is None when the topic holds no complete cut of that group.
§Errors
Returns the fetcher’s error, or
StreamsClientError::BarrierFormat
when a record does not match the frozen layout.
Sourcepub async fn complete_cuts_after(
&mut self,
group: &str,
epoch: i64,
) -> Result<Vec<BarrierCut>, StreamsClientError>
pub async fn complete_cuts_after( &mut self, group: &str, epoch: i64, ) -> Result<Vec<BarrierCut>, StreamsClientError>
The complete cuts of a barrier group above epoch, oldest first.
Pass -1 to get every complete cut. Partial cuts are left out.
§Errors
Returns the fetcher’s error, or
StreamsClientError::BarrierFormat
when a record does not match the frozen layout.
Sourcepub async fn complete_cut_at(
&mut self,
group: &str,
epoch: i64,
) -> Result<Option<BarrierCut>, StreamsClientError>
pub async fn complete_cut_at( &mut self, group: &str, epoch: i64, ) -> Result<Option<BarrierCut>, StreamsClientError>
The complete cut of one epoch, or None when the topic holds no such
cut.
§Errors
Returns the fetcher’s error, or
StreamsClientError::BarrierFormat
when a record does not match the frozen layout.

§fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
Returns a styled value derived from self with the foreground set to
value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like red() and
green(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Set foreground color to white using fg():
use yansi::{Paint, Color};
painted.fg(Color::White);Set foreground color to white using white().

builder methods like on_red() and
on_green(), which have the same functionality but
are pithier.
§Example
Set background color to red using fg():

§fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the styling [Attribute] value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use
attribute-specific builder methods like bold() and
underline(), which have the same functionality
but are pithier.
§Example
Make text bold using attr():
use yansi::{Paint, Attribute};
painted.attr(Attribute::Bold);Make text bold using using bold().
use yansi::Paint;
painted.bold();§fn rapid_blink(&self) -> Painted<&T>
fn rapid_blink(&self) -> Painted<&T>
§fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the yansi [Quirk] value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use quirk-specific
builder methods like mask() and
wrap(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Enable wrapping using .quirk():
use yansi::{Paint, Quirk};
painted.quirk(Quirk::Wrap);Enable wrapping using wrap().
use yansi::Paint;
painted.wrap();§fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
👎Deprecated since 1.0.1: renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
§fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
Conditionally enable styling based on whether the [Condition] value
applies. Replaces any previous condition.
See the crate level docs for more details.
§Example
Enable styling painted only when both stdout and stderr are TTYs:
use yansi::{Paint, Condition};
painted.red().on_yellow().whenever(Condition::STDOUTERR_ARE_TTY);
