One epoch’s cut across every partition of a barrier group.
A cut names an exact position in every input at once: the offset of the epoch’s marker in each partition. The marker is a Kafka control record, so no consumer receives it and the cut offset never holds a data record. The records before the cut of a partition are exactly the records with a lower offset.
CutReader decodes cuts from BARRIER_STATE_TOPIC.
Fields§
§group: StringThe barrier group the coordinator injected markers for.
epoch: i64The epoch that names this cut inside the group. A coordinator never reuses one.
triggered_at: i64The time the injection started, in milliseconds since the Unix epoch.
completed_at: i64The time the coordinator published the cut, in milliseconds since the Unix epoch.
status: CutStatusWhether every partition received the epoch’s marker.
offsets: PositionThe marker offset of every partition that received one, as topic to partition to offset.
missing: BTreeSet<TopicPartition>The partitions that never received the epoch’s marker. It is empty for a complete cut.
Implementations§
Source§impl BarrierCut
impl BarrierCut
Sourcepub fn complete(&self) -> bool
pub fn complete(&self) -> bool
Whether every partition of the group received the epoch’s marker.
A runner aligns on a complete cut only.
Sourcepub fn offset(&self, topic: &str, partition: i32) -> Option<i64>
pub fn offset(&self, topic: &str, partition: i32) -> Option<i64>
The marker offset of one partition, or None when the cut does not name
it.
Sourcepub fn reached(&self, topic: &str, partition: i32, position: i64) -> bool
pub fn reached(&self, topic: &str, partition: i32, position: i64) -> bool
Whether a partition delivered everything below the cut.
position is the next offset the task reads. A partition the cut does
not name holds nothing back, so it always reports true.
Sourcepub fn partitions(&self) -> Vec<TopicPartition>
pub fn partitions(&self) -> Vec<TopicPartition>
Every partition the cut names, in topic and then partition order.

Returns a styled value derived from self with the foreground set to

This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific

pithier.
§Example
Set foreground color to white using fg():

§Example

§Example
Enable wrapping using .quirk():

👎Deprecated since 1.0.1: renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().

fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
§fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
Conditionally enable styling based on whether the [Condition] value
applies. Replaces any previous condition.
See the crate level docs for more details.
§Example
Enable styling painted only when both stdout and stderr are TTYs:
use yansi::{Paint, Condition};
painted.red().on_yellow().whenever(Condition::STDOUTERR_ARE_TTY);
