Errors raised by RemoteStorageManager
and RemoteLogMetadataManager
implementations.
Variants§
Io(Error)
An I/O failure in the underlying store (filesystem, object store, …).
SegmentNotFound(RemoteLogSegmentId)
A segment was referenced that the metadata store has never seen.
InvalidAdd
A caller gave add_remote_log_segment_metadata a starting state
other than RemoteLogSegmentState::CopySegmentStarted, or a
segment id that already exists.
InvalidSegmentTransition
A caller requested a lifecycle transition that the state machine forbids.
Fields
id: RemoteLogSegmentIdThe segment whose transition was rejected.
from: RemoteLogSegmentStateCurrent state.
to: RemoteLogSegmentStateRequested state.
InvalidPartitionDeleteTransition
A caller requested a partition-delete lifecycle transition that the state machine forbids.
Fields
tp: TopicIdPartitionThe partition whose transition was rejected.
from: Option<RemotePartitionDeleteState>Current state (None when the partition was never marked).
to: RemotePartitionDeleteStateRequested state.
InvalidArgument(String)
Constructor / argument validation failed.
ObjectExists
A conditional create found an object already at the key.
A write-once archive turns on PutMode::Create for every object it
writes, so this is how it learns that a key is already taken rather
than silently replacing what is there.
PreconditionFailed
A conditional write’s precondition did not hold, for example an ETag
that no longer matches.
Fields
RecordTooLarge
A scan of a remote segment’s records met a compressed batch with a record
whose body is larger than the caller’s limit. This is Kafka trunk’s
max.decompressed.message.bytes, which DefaultRecord.readFrom enforces
with an InvalidRecordException.
The segment is fine and the answer is known: the lookup fails, and it fails the same way on every retry until the limit is raised.
Fields
Worm(WormError)
The write-once (WORM) archive layer refused or could not complete the operation.
Backend(String)
A backend, for example an object store, raised an error. The error does not map cleanly to one of the structured variants above.
NotReady
This broker holds the metadata partition that would answer this
query, but its consumer has not yet caught up to the high-water mark
that the broker observed when it took the assignment. The answer is
unknown, not “no segment”. Callers should retry rather than treat it
as a definitive miss. Ok(None) is reserved for “caught up, no
covering segment” and for partitions this broker does not consume at
all.

§fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
Returns a styled value derived from self with the foreground set to
value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like red() and
green(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Set foreground color to white using fg():
use yansi::{Paint, Color};
painted.fg(Color::White);Set foreground color to white using white().
use yansi::Paint;

§fn bg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
fn bg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
Returns a styled value derived from self with the background set to
value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like on_red() and
on_green(), which have the same functionality but
are pithier.
§Example
Set background color to red using fg():
use yansi::{Paint, Color};
painted.bg(Color::Red);Set background color to red using on_red().

§fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the styling [Attribute] value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use
attribute-specific builder methods like bold() and
underline(), which have the same functionality
but are pithier.
§Example
Make text bold using attr():
use yansi::{Paint, Attribute};
painted.attr(Attribute::Bold);Make text bold using using bold().
use yansi::Paint;
painted.bold();§fn rapid_blink(&self) -> Painted<&T>
fn rapid_blink(&self) -> Painted<&T>
§fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the yansi [Quirk] value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use quirk-specific
builder methods like mask() and
wrap(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Enable wrapping using .quirk():
use yansi::{Paint, Quirk};
painted.quirk(Quirk::Wrap);Enable wrapping using wrap().
use yansi::Paint;
painted.wrap();§fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
👎Deprecated since 1.0.1: renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
§fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
Conditionally enable styling based on whether the [Condition] value
applies. Replaces any previous condition.
See the crate level docs for more details.
§Example
Enable styling painted only when both stdout and stderr are TTYs:
use yansi::{Paint, Condition};
painted.red().on_yellow().whenever(Condition::STDOUTERR_ARE_TTY);
